Today you will take the flight to Hohhot. When arrival, we will pick you up from the airport and transfer to the hotel check in. The rest of the day you can have a rest at the hotel or enjoy your leisure time in Hohhot on your own.

This morning we’ll first go to the Xilamuren Grassland, a typical plateau grassland, every summer and autumn green grass and flowers are everywhere, so here is a summer resort famous at home and abroad. In the Xilamuren grassland, you can not only enjoy the beautiful scenery of the grassland, taste the heroic mood of the grassland nomads, but also participate in the grand “Ritual Aobao” ceremony, enjoy the typical flavor of the grassland ethnic food, and experience the unique and rich Mongolian cultural customs.  

After that, head to visit HongGeer Aobao with the Mongolian Show. You will enjoy the Mongolian zhama banquet for dinner, also can join the bonfire party after dinner.

Early in the morning, enjoy the sunrise in the Xilamuren Grassland, then depart to the Happy Ranch to experience the local customs. Lunch in the local restaurant and continue to the Dazhao Temple. Dazhao, built in Qing Dynasty, is the largest temple of Huangism in Hohhot, also an ancient example of Tibetan religious architecture. Here enshrines the largest silver Buddha statue of Shakyamuni in the country, so also called Silver Buddha Temple. The splendid temple architecture, precious cultural relics and works of art, as well as the mysterious chamu dance and Buddhist music, constitute the unique “temple culture of Dazhao”. Afterwards, stroll around the Islamic Street to experience the rich Islamic customs.

Our first stop today is the Jiangjun Yashu (General Administration Office), it was built by the Qing Dynasty to consolidate the stability of the northwest frontier of borderland and implement political and military rule over the Mongolian regions. 78 generals served here in the Qing Dynasty. And there is a museum, which is established in1992, is a multi-functional museum integrating cultural relics display, ancient architecture display and regional history publicity.

Next is the Zhaojun Museum. In Chinese history, Wang Zhaojun was a great woman who devoted herself to the cause of the friendship of the Chinese nation, and among the people, Zhaojun was the embodiment of beauty. Zhaojun Meseum is the world’s first museum to record the history of Xiongnu, showing the history of Wang Zhaojun more than 2,000 years ago, witnessing the development of the integration of Han and Mongolian culture.

Start the journey from Hasuhai, Hasu Sea is a natural lake left over from the changes of the Yellow River. It means black lake in Mongolian and is now a wetland nature reserve. When you are in the Hasuhai, you can see the clear sky, the blue water, and the bushes, and you will feel that it is like a light and elegant ink painting.

Next we’re going to the Wudangzhao, the most famous Tibetan Buddhist temples in China, is the largest Gelug monastery in Inner Mongolia. “Wudang” means “willow” in Mongolia and “Zhao” means “temple”. The buildings of Wudangzhao have a strong Tibetan Buddhist style, and the exterior walls of all the buildings are white and square. The largest building is the Sugu Qin Hall, located at the front of the Wudangzhao, which houses the largest bronze Buddha statue.

After breakfast this morning, head to the Whistling Dune Bay, in Mongolian, Whistling Dune Bay meas “sand dune with trumpet”. The dunes here are endless, what’s even more amazing is that the sand here sings. Here to experience the famous sand movement, from the top of the tall sand dunes began to slide down, you will hear the sand dunes around you made a strange sound, light like frogs croak, heavy like planes and cars roar, and like thunder, can be called “rare in the world, the most in China”, and the name Whistling Dune Bay named after this.

In the four island districts of Whistling Dune Bay, you can enjoy the various facilities of Xiansha Island, in addition, can experience camel riding in the desert. Afterwards, you will move to Dalad Banner for a overnight stay.

Depart from hotel, first to watch the Mongolia Chess Square and the Plaza of the Asian Art Center in Kangbashi area. Then another important spot is the Mausoleum of Genghis Khan, here you can see the Mongolian landmark, Genghis Khan Mausoleum Palace, understand the vicissitudes of history and historical and cultural connotation of the Mausoleum, and learn the most glorious historical facts of the Mongolians in the form of a scroll.

In addition, you can have a chance to see the ancient and mysterious Genghis Khan Fiesta, which is the most solemn sacrificial activity of the Mongolians. The sacrifices are generally divided into weekday sacrifice, month sacrifice and season sacrifice, all of which have fixed dates. There are more than 60 times a year, with  complete offerings including whole sheep, holy wine and various milk foods. The annual Spring Fiesta on March 21 of the lunar calendar is the most largest and most solemn.

A new day begins with the visiting of Laoniuwan National Geopark, the Yellow River enters Shanxi from here, the inner and outer Great Wall meets from here, the Jinshan-Mongolian Grand Canyon begins here, and the geomorphological features of the vicissitudes of China’s Loess Plateau are manifested here. There are also magnificent views of the great river. The Yellow River Canyon here can be regarded as one of the most beautiful canyons in China.

We will return to Hohhot after breakfast, then pay a visit to the Inner Mongolia Museum with ethnic characteristics. You can find the most authoritative exhibition group of northern nomadic nationalities in China, and the largest Cretaceous dinosaur fossils in the world, to understand the historical process of the origin, development and sublimation of the Mongolian Plateau.

After the visiting, the rest of the day you can enjoy the leisure on your own in Hohhot downtown and make preparation for tomorrow’s departure. Have a good rest.
