Today you will take the flight to Kunming. When arrival, we will pick you up from the airport and transfer to the hotel check in. The rest of the day you can have a rest at the hotel or enjoy your leisure time in Kunming on your own.

Buffet breakfast at hotel, then drive along the new express way to Stone Forest (Shilin). Stone Forest is 75 kilometers from Kunming and is accessible by a bus ride of 70 minutes. The Stone forest belongs to the typical Karst geomorphology, it consists of innumerable bizarre-shaped ancient limestone cliffs and peaks created by wind and water erosion some 200 million years ago, and this area is praised as the “First Wonder Under Heaven”. 

After visiting, stay overnight in near the Shilin Scenic Spot.

After the breakfast, we will drive to Jianshui. Jianshui Ancient city was founded in the Yuan and years of the Tang Dynasty, is a national historical and cultural city. After 12 centuries of construction, it has preserved more than 50 ancient buildings and more than 1,000 ground cultural relics, known as the “Ancient Architecture Museum” and “Residential Museum”.

Inside the ancient city, you can pay a visit to the famous Double Dragon Bridge (Shuanglong Bridge), which is a large stone arch bridge with two pavilions and seventeen holes. The so-called “double dragon”, that is, the two rivers of the Tatong River and the Lu River, with a meaning that a bridge locked two dragons. Another is Garden of Zhu Family, built during the reign of Guangxu in Qing Dynasty, is a typical home garden with southern characteristics, which contains profound cultural connotation in its rich forms. It is the product of the combination of mainland culture and border culture, and has high architectural artistic value.

Also we will pay a visit to the Tuanshan Residence, located 13 kilometers west of Jianshui Ancient City. It was the residence of the Yi people in history, meaning “place where gold and silver are buried”. There are 15 well-preserved large residential buildings, which show the typical characteristics of residential buildings in southern Yunnan, represent the highest level of local architecture development in Yunnan.

Today in the morning, we will drive to Yuanyang, the landscapes in Yuanyang are characterized by rice terraces and ethnic customs. Thousands of terraces, in the cover of the vast forest and under the cover of the long sea of clouds, constitute a magical and magnificent landscape, it’s a masterpiece left by the Hani people for generations. There you can also pay a visit to ethnic village to experience the unique Hani and Yi nationality lifestyles.

In the afternoon, we ‘re going to the Bada Terrace to enjoy the sunset. Endless terraces of thousands of layers, stretching to the top of the mountain 2,000 meters above sea level, lift many Hani villages into the sea of clouds. More than 3,700 terraces are like a ladder, reaching the sky. The terraces at sunset are glittering with gold and silver, are the best scenic spot for viewing and photographing the terraces, sunsets and local villages.

Early in the morning, we’ll go to the Duoyishu Terrace, a very wonderful part of the Yuanyang terraces, and the best place to enjoy the sunrise. At sunrise, the golden light of the morning glow shines through the mist, sparkling. The water in the terraces is like a mirror, and the changing color make people dizzying. The village in Duoyishu looming under the fog is like a fantasy wonderland in reality.

After the natural scenery, continue the journey to Azheke Village, an ancient village with a history more than 210 years. There are more than 60 Hani families living here, the original Mushroom Houses in the village are considered by experts to be the best preserved Hani traditional building groups in Yuanyang County. Surrounded by this farming terraced environment, the village is still inhabited by the Hani indigenous people, who still maintain a simple lifestyle.

After the visiting, drive back to Kunming and have a good rest.

Today after breakfast in the morning, we’ll first pay a visit to the Dragon Gate of West Hill (Xishan Longmen). The Longmen Grottoes here are the largest and most exquisite Taoist grottoes in Yunnan, and it’s the first of man y acenic spot in the West Hill of Kunming, enjoys a high popularity at home and abroad. The Dragon Gate (Longmen) is the essence of the grottoes, the whole project of it is carved on a natural rock, the idea is ingenious, the craftsmanship is exquisite and breathtaking.

After the visiting, you will say farewell to Kunming and be transferred to the airport, take the flight back to your home. It has been a great holiday and we look forward to seeing you another China tour.
