Chinese people always say that Guilin landscape tops elsewhere, Yangshuo landscape tops at Guilin. It is no exaggeration to say that the scenery in Guilin is the best under heaven. If you have a 20 yuan note on your hand, look at the backside, what is printed in the center is just the most unique landscape in Guilin. Today you will have a chance to see it by yourself.We will start our tour today by taking a cozy sightseeing cruise along the Li River from Mopanshan Pier to Yangshuo Town. Alongside the river, what overwhelms your eyes is the dazzling scenery like a vivid picture scroll of Chinese painting. You will be stunned by the sparkling river, unique limestone karst mountains, peaceful countryside views and bridges looked like something out of a fairy tale.The 84 kilometers cruise takes about 4 hours. After the relaxing time, we will reach Yangshuo Town. Either biking along the Yulong River or rowing a bamboo rafting is highly recommended for exploring the beauty of the countryside.

Afterwards, wander to ancient West Street to experience how the Chinese and Western cultures communicate in the small village. Sit in a special bar, have a cup of drink with delicious Chinese cuisine and then enjoy the picturesque scenes outside the window. That’s how to taste the eastern flavor by western style.

Recommended optional activity: Watch the incredible light show of Impression Liu Sanjie which takes the Li River as the stage, directed by Zhang Yimou. (between 19:45 to 22:20)

Yangshuo is a very peaceful small town where is an excellent places to spend you days. Today we will take a bike tour along the Yulong River Valley and you will enjoy the fascinating countryside scenery on the way. Stopping at a farm for a while and watching how the famers take care of their lovely land is really enjoyable! Then head to Moon Hill and hike to the peak of the hill to have the best view of Yangshuo town.

Afterwards, drive to Xingping Town where to find the background image printed on the backside of 20 RMB bills. You will be amazed by the stunning scenery around it as the mountains look like suddenly coming up from the earth and rivers are like randomly spilled out by someone. What a fairyland!

Optional: In the evening, you can enjoy the fabulous Liusanjie Light show if you are interested

Today let us spend a whole day in the fascinating Longji Rice Terraces. We will drive about 1 hour to get to Longsheng in the morning after breakfast. Appreciate the nice mountain range views and explore the unique ethnic culture and customs in the village. With the help of your guide, you can even talk with the local people and work together with them to really experience their daily life! The terraces are layer upon layer and each layer has different color depending on the color of crops cultivated on it, which forms a unique scenery attracting thousands of photographer every year.

In the morning, drive to Sanjiang, which is the junction of Guizhou, Hunan and Guangxi. It is also the homeland of Dong people and they have been there for more than one thousand years. We will visit Chengyang Yongji Bridge, the biggest and longest wind & rain bridge in the world. It is also known as Chengyang wind & rain bridge. Typically, bridge is just a kind of road on rivers or streams, but the wind & rain bridge has developed a new function as the pavilion over river for people taking shelter from wind and rain. That is also the wisdom of locals, as in Guizhou, unceasing wind and rain is quite normal, people then take use of the wide space of the bridge to build a sheltering place for people to have a rest or gathering in the bad weather. There are 108 wind & rain bridges in Sanjiang, and Yongji Bridge is the most popular one.

Not far from the bridge is the Sanjiang Drum-tower which is also well-known for its scale and wonderful workmanship. Walking inside the tower, you will be even more astonished for the dazzling ceiling and stunning complex structure.

Today we will drive to Rongjiang in the morning and you will visit the Dali Dong Village. Once entered the village, the first thing come into our view is again the drum-tower and wind & rain bridge. They are the typical architecture of Dong nationality and almost built in all the Dong villages. Mortise-Tenon structural is used commonly in Dong architectures which does not use nails at all. Have been existing for more than 600 years, each part of the village is the witness of the vicissitudes of this region.

When the night falls, singing and dancing wearing the traditional indigo-dyed clothing with the local Dong people and having dinner together with them, you will forget all the worries!

In the morning, we will drive to Kaili at about 9am. Then we will go directly to Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village, an open air museum with more than 1000 Miao households in the area. It is also the biggest Miao village in the world. You will experience the most authentic and original Miao culture here no matter what you are interested in, Diaojiaolou or Miao silver. The night scenery in the village is also beyond your imagination! when night falls, don’t be shocked, the dotted small lights in somewhere you didn’t noticed will suddenly be lighted up! And the whole valley will be changed into a fairyland for a second! Beauty is everything that Xijiang Miao Village responses to you. Enjoy the lovely hidden gem!

Later in the day, take the high-speed train to Kunming. Upon arrival, be met and transferred to have hotel check-in.

Today you will star your wonderful tour by visiting the Stone Forest where to appreciate the strange stones in all shapes and sizes. Walking through the forest, sometimes you will feel like in a flat plateau with no obstacles on the way, sometimes it takes a great effort to climb to the highest points to have the best view.

After taking an adventure in the stone forest, we will pay a visit to the local Yi Village. Yi people are the genius of getting well along with nature. You will be amazed by the life style of them and how talented they are on making use of the stones around them.

Later in the day, you will be escorted to the railway station to take the high-speed train to Dali.

In the morning, we will head to visit Dali Old Town after breakfast. Dali is one of the main residential places of Bai people, where was also once the capital city of both Nanzhao Kingdom (738-906) and Dali Kingdom (937-1254). Bai culture although has been deeply influenced by Han culture in the past thousands of years, the traditions of them are still preserved very well.

Then drive to the Cangshan Mountain which is near to the Dali old town. Cangshan in Chinese means the lush mountain which indicated how vibrant the mountain is. There are several Bai villages at the foot of the beautiful mountains. Pay a visit to the Bai village and experience the unique Bai tie-dyeing with the patterns that often painted by the Bai people.

When you come to Changshan mountain, it will be a pity if missing out Erhai Lake. Strolling around the lovely Erhai Lake after visiting Bai village is quite enjoyable. You can also bike around the lake and appreciate the charming Cangshan mountain on the way.

Today we will drive further west to the famous Lijiang city. If you have never been to Lijiang before and come to see Black Dragon Pool for the first sight, you may mistake the jade dragon snow mountain for a part of the pool. Because the water is so clear that looks like a mirror and the mountains are perfectly reflected to be mistaken for being grown from the bottom of the pool.

Afterwards, go to Lijiang Old City which was built in South Song Dynasty 800 years ago. The whole city has experienced several times of ups and downs and formed the current structure and was listed as UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997. There are many hidden gems scattered in the corners waiting for your exploration like the Naxi style architecture. Inside the old city is the Mu’s Family, which is the representative of Naxi buildings. It is the former residence of Tusi, who was once the ruler of Naxi people, and the structure of it is modeled after the forbidden city.
